Do you know how some days are just one of those days…..you know…..you climb out of bed only to kick your toe and then trip over the cat on the way to the loo….and so on it goes for the entire day? I am sure we ALL have those days…at least I hope I am not the only one that does! LOLLL
Anyway…..today was actually NOT one of those days! It’s been a FABULOUS day since the moment I got out of bed. Everything has went right for a change! Oh I LOVE this sort of day! If only EVERY DAY was like this!
Anyway ….just ONE of the good things about today that I want to share with you is that when I went to post a package of hardware for a lovely lady in the US…..I got served by a wonderful, helpful lady in the post office.
Yes….while that in itself is great, that isn’t what I want to blurt about here….what was really GREAT is that she tried to fiddle my parcel through a slot thingy in a cardboard thingy…..She said “Darn, if it was just a wee bit thinner you could send this as a letter for a whole lot less!”
She asked me what I had inside. I explained it was pieces of “Bag hardware”…..So she suggested we open it up and see if we can jiggle it around to make it thinner….and LOW and BEHOLD…we did and it fitted through the slot EASY PEASY….and the BEST part is it cost just a few cents short of HALF….yes…..HALF the amount to ship! YAY!
Sooooo….with that in mind, I have edited my hardware kits in Etsy to reflect the new shipping rates! (YES – Aussies can get it sent cheaper too, sent as a letter! LOL)
Oh and would you believe the lady even gave me (YES…..she gave it to me so it cost me NIX! LOLL) one of those cardboard thingies to take home so I can do my own jiggling in future and check that they fit through the slot! LOLL Here it is:
See the slot at the top? Well that is it! So as long as it fits through that slot without forcing it through……I can ship as a letter and save you LOTS! 🙂 I should be able to easily fit 3 or 4 sets in a packet for the same shipping! I’ll do some testing and see! 🙂
So…..I have now ordered a swag of hardware which I will add to my shop as soon as I get it! Meanwhile I will go though my stash to see what I can put together until it gets here! Luckily I always buy more than I need so will have some extra to put together a few kits right away! 🙂
