Firstly….thank you to everyone for all your wonderful name suggestions for my shortly to be released cross the body bag!
Each and every suggestion was very MUCH appreciated and WOW…there were soooo many great names to choose from that my daughters and I spent the best part of the afternoon trying to narrow the choices down to just ONE! NOT an easy task! (But still a better one than my flicking the pages of a names book and choosing the name my finger lands on! LOLLL)
Sooooo….DRUM ROLL PLEASE……………..

I
immediately thought of “Lombard Street” in San Francisco with its
tight hairpin turns. Plus it would be a great bag to take on a trip to San
Francisco with all the hidden pockets and the iPad sleeve! Love it!!!

Of course, being Aussies and having never been to Lombard Street or indeed San Francisco…….the first thing we did was google it! (What else? LOLLL)
The first thing we saw was this picture:

WOW….yes….it is indeed reminiscent of this bag (or should that be the other way around?LOLL) PLUS ….we liked the sound of the name….”The Lombard Street Bag” catchy….don’t you think?
Interestingly….(according to Wikipedia)…. Lombard Street is known for being the crookedest (most winding) street in the world due to its 8 sharp turns (or switchbacks as they are apparently called too). The crooked section of the street is about 400 m (1⁄4 mile) long and is reserved for one-way traffic traveling east (downhill) and is paved with red bricks. The speed limit in this section is 8 km/h (5 mph).
Mind you….we have a few crooked streets here too LOLLL BUT admittedly none like this one!
So again thank you to everyone entering the competition…it was indeed a lot of FUN to see all the names come in….so many great ideas! BUT Unfortunately there can only be one winner so congrats to you Jane…I’ll be in touch with you shortly to send you the PDF PLUS sort out just where to send your hardware kit to! 🙂
AND in case any of you are wondering…….I am doing the final editing as feedback is coming in as I type ……so The Lombard Street Bag pattern will be out VERY SOON! 🙂
