So a LOT has been happening lately BUT I am happy to say that I finally have a new bag pattern to share with you. The Phoenix!
The Phoenix is a stylish handbag featuring exterior side gusset zipper pockets and a quick access phone pocket at the back. The roomy main compartment closes with a recessed zipper pocket.
Inside you will find another zipper pocket. I like to add Pocket Supplement A for some additional slip pockets. There is a removable cross body strap and two handle straps.
Approx. 33cm (13”) W X 28cm (11”) H X 9.5cm (3 ¾”) D.
The Phoenix features unique Gusset Side Pockets:
The ChrisW Designs Signature Phone pocket is discreetly hidden at the back of the bag. You barely know it’s there!
The main compartment closes with a recessed zipper:
Inside the roomy interior is another Zipper Pocket. I also suggest adding Pocket Supplement A for additional slip pockets, if you are like me and love pockets!
As usual, my favourite part of the pattern release is sharing my tester photos with you BUT before I do, I want to say a great big HUGE thank you to each one of my testers….without them CWD wouldn’t be here! It’s impossible to create a totally error free pattern without proper testing and even then, occasionally something slips through no matter how thorough we are… but as I always say, I honestly believe I have THE BEST testers in the industry! You ROCK ladies!! So, let’s look at some Tester Photos:
In no particular order, first up is Marilyn of Shades of Bold:
Next up we have Daryl of Patchouli Moon Studio:
Brandy of Beans Bags and Handicrafts Co‘s Version:
Also, for those of you who are more visual, Brandy has shared a free video tutorial on her YouTube Channel. WOOP!

Thank you so much Suzy!
Can you make this bag with out the side zippers and put the opening on the top.

Hi Linda, You can certainly easily leave off the side zippers/pockets but you would need to modify the pattern to have the opening at the top.
