Welcome to ChrisW Designs. By accessing this website, purchasing a product, downloading a file, joining a membership, or using any content from this website, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.
If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use this website or purchase products from ChrisW Designs.
ChrisW Designs sells digital sewing patterns, tutorials, memberships, and related digital products. All content on this website, including PDF patterns, photographs, diagrams, instructions, videos, downloads, graphics, text, and branding, is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.
1. Digital Products
Most ChrisW Designs products are digital products. No physical item will be posted unless a product listing specifically states otherwise.
After purchase, digital files are made available by download, email, customer account access, or another digital delivery method. It is your responsibility to ensure that you enter the correct email address and download your files promptly.
If you have trouble accessing a file you purchased, please contact ChrisW Designs for assistance.
2. Licence to Use Digital Patterns and Downloads
When you purchase or download a ChrisW Designs PDF pattern or digital product, you are purchasing a licence to use that product. You are not purchasing ownership of the copyright, design, instructions, photographs, diagrams, pattern pieces, or other materials.
You may:
- download and print the pattern for your own personal use;
- save a backup copy for your own use;
- use the pattern to make handmade items for yourself;
- use the pattern to make handmade items to sell on a small handmade-business scale, provided the items are made by you and are not mass produced.
You may not:
- share, copy, give away, sell, upload, distribute, or reproduce the PDF pattern or digital files;
- email or send the files to another person;
- upload the files to social media, file-sharing websites, groups, forums, cloud folders, or pattern-sharing platforms;
- copy or reproduce the instructions, diagrams, photographs, templates, or pattern pieces;
- use ChrisW Designs patterns, instructions, photographs, diagrams, or templates to create your own pattern, tutorial, course, video, or digital product;
- claim ChrisW Designs patterns or designs as your own;
- use the files for teaching, classes, workshops, kits, subscriptions, commercial production, or manufacturing without written permission.
Each customer must purchase their own copy of the pattern.
3. Making Items to Sell
You are welcome to sell finished handmade items made by you from ChrisW Designs patterns on a small-scale handmade basis.
This permission does not include mass production, factory production, outsourcing production, or using the pattern to manufacture items in bulk.
When selling finished items, you are responsible for ensuring that your finished product is suitable, safe, and compliant with any laws, regulations, labelling requirements, product safety requirements, or marketplace rules that apply in your location or where you sell your finished items.
Credit to ChrisW Designs is appreciated but not required unless a specific product listing says otherwise.
4. Pattern Accuracy and Updates
ChrisW Designs takes care to provide clear and accurate patterns, instructions, diagrams, and product information. However, sewing results may vary depending on your materials, tools, printing, skill level, machine, and construction choices.
ChrisW Designs may update, correct, replace, or revise digital products, product listings, tutorials, or website content at any time.
If you believe there is an error in a pattern or download, please contact ChrisW Designs so it can be checked.
5. Printing and Measurements
ChrisW Designs PDF patterns are designed to be printed according to the instructions provided with each pattern. You are responsible for checking printer settings, scale, test squares, paper size, and page orientation before cutting fabric or materials.
ChrisW Designs is not responsible for issues caused by incorrect printing, printer scaling, paper-size changes, software settings, or failure to check the test square before use.
6. Safety Information
ChrisW Designs PDF patterns provide instructions for making handmade bags, wallets, accessories, and related items. Unless specifically stated otherwise, finished items made from ChrisW Designs patterns are not toys and have not been designed, tested, or certified as toys or children’s products.
You are responsible for choosing appropriate materials, hardware, stabilisers, closures, straps, tools, and construction methods for the intended use of your finished item.
Small parts, hardware, zippers, zipper pulls, magnetic snaps, rivets, strap connectors, cords, long straps, plastic packaging, and other components may pose choking, entanglement, strangulation, pinching, or injury hazards, particularly for babies and young children.
Keep small parts, tools, sharp objects, adhesives, packaging, and unfinished project components away from children and pets. Supervise children where appropriate.
If making an item for a child, baby, or other vulnerable person, you are responsible for ensuring that the finished item is safe and suitable for that intended use, including any relevant product safety, age suitability, labelling, or legal requirements in your country or region.
7. Product Descriptions and Photographs
ChrisW Designs makes reasonable efforts to describe and display products accurately. Colours, scale, fabric choices, and finished results may vary depending on your screen, printer, fabric, hardware, materials, and sewing methods.
Photographs of finished samples are examples only. They do not guarantee identical results.
8. Refunds and Consumer Rights
Due to the digital nature of PDF patterns and downloads, ChrisW Designs generally does not offer refunds for change of mind once a digital product has been purchased or accessed.
However, nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights you may have under Australian Consumer Law or other applicable consumer protection laws.
If a digital product is faulty, not as described, or there is a genuine issue with your order, please contact ChrisW Designs so the issue can be reviewed and, where appropriate, corrected, replaced, or refunded.
9. Website, Memberships, and Community Access
If ChrisW Designs offers memberships, community access, or account-based content, you are responsible for keeping your login details secure.
You must not share your account, login details, downloads, private community content, paid resources, or member-only materials with others.
ChrisW Designs may suspend or remove access to accounts, memberships, groups, or community areas if these terms are breached, if content is misused, or if behaviour is harmful, abusive, spammy, or inappropriate.
10. Links to Other Websites
This website may include links to other websites, platforms, services, or resources. ChrisW Designs is not responsible for the content, policies, security, or practices of third-party websites.
Visiting third-party websites is at your own risk.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ChrisW Designs is not liable for any loss, damage, injury, expense, or claim arising from your use of this website, digital products, patterns, tutorials, downloads, materials, finished items, or third-party links.
You are responsible for your own sewing, tool use, material choices, finished items, product safety decisions, and any items you sell or give to others.
Nothing in these Terms excludes any rights or remedies that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
12. Copyright Breach
Unauthorised sharing, copying, distribution, resale, uploading, or reproduction of ChrisW Designs patterns, downloads, instructions, photographs, diagrams, videos, or other materials is a breach of these Terms and may also breach copyright law.
ChrisW Designs reserves the right to take appropriate action where copyright or licensing terms are breached.
13. Changes to These Terms
ChrisW Designs may update or revise these Terms and Conditions at any time. The current version published on this website applies when you use the website or purchase a product.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia, unless another law is required to apply.
