I made a couple of Evelyn Bags a few years ago. I love the style and shape and size of this bag. It can be made without the side pockets as I have seen a few others do. As with all Christine’s patterns, the instructions are very clearly written. I love that when you open the bag you can see all your belongings clearly. No digging down into a deep bag, which I am not fond of doing. There are plenty of pockets that you can add or not to make this customized to your tastes.

Every Evelyn I’ve made has been well received – it’s a fantastic pattern and easy to follow. One of the nice things about any ChrisW pattern is you not only get a great bag out of it, you also learn the whys behind what you’re doing. As noted by others, you can leave the side pockets off, or keep them. I tend to also make my flap one solid piece, without the middle divider. Love this bag!

I wish the these patterns came in kits! I am a advance sewer but have a hard time with picking fabric to make a nice looking Bag! If someone could help me get started with choosing fabric I would be all over it!

Hi Ginger…..Picking fabrics is so personal and tastes vary greatly, which is why it is rare to find kits that include fabric. I would suggest looking at Instagram or joining our Facebook group and browsing through the photos to get inspiration….if you see a bag in fabric that appeals, do ask the maker! most are only too happy to let you know the name of the fabric and where you might find it!
