This was my first time using a video to make a bag and it was fantastic! There were a few things new to me with this purse and Chris just does such a thorough job explaining, that it turned out perfectly. The Strapfield is a stylish bag and you will enjoy making it!

I was fortunate to test this pattern and video for Christine when it was first released and I really underestimated how versatile and useful this bag would be! It quickly became my favourite bag, especially being able to convert to a backpack when I had to cart a heavy bag full – my shoulders thank you!
The pattern is very detailed and the videos are incredibly useful. Christine shows each step in detail and includes helpful hints along the way. I really love that the videos are broken up into units so I don’t have to remember where I am up when I need to spread the sewing over a few days.

I made this bag twice using the video walk-through. I’m a visual learner and it’s great to be able to watch someone else go through the steps as many times as you need.

This was my first ChrisW Designs purse. The video made it so easy!! She explains everything completely and even gives little tips and tricks that are not in the written pattern. Just watching how she does each step helped me complete the purse with a minimum of problems and seam ripping!

As always, Chris puts a fabulous design together and the video is so helpful in making this great bag. It’s done in segments so that it is easy to follow along with one section at a time. I would highly recommend any of Chris’ fabulous bag patterns!!

Chris always makes everything understandable with well-written patterns and detailed videos. Even challenging patterns are doable. The Strapfield Convertible is no exception. I highly recommend anything with Chris’s name on it as designer.

If there is a video course attached to a pattern I always buy it. Chris is a wonderful teacher and her visual learning is excellent. You can clearly see what is going on and you get the course in easy to bite sizes. The best video course I have ever used. Highly recommend.

omgosh . . . I love this bag !!
The Strapfield is the perfect bag – – – carry a little or a lot – – ample space for all the extras – – has lots of pockets too -and a very easily accessible exterior phone pocket – – deep and large enough to get your hand in and out without any fuss – yepper – – stash your stuff !!
It’s made to be “slouchy” . . . soft and pliable – – carry it on your shoulder, carry it like a handbag and best of all carry it like a backpack – – up and out of the way for those times you need your bag and two hands free. Definitely will not dissapoint – – easy to put together too – – – Chris does a fantastic – over-the-top job with her instructional videos. You get a personal sewist expert at your side every step of the way. Pause, rewind . . . no matter what time of day or night . . . she’s there 🙂 <3 Wish I could post of picture .

I bought this pattern because the bag would convert to a backpack..ooooooh it is great..
First ‘test pattern’ was cotton and nice, then I did it in leather with rivets and hardware, love it..the instructions were great, but the video was well worth the add on purchase! Chris is a great teacher and the video made the whole process so much easier.
Thank you Chris, I have other patterns from you and your patterns are so detailed and easy to follow and the end products are my favourite bags ..
There is a teeeeeny but…I didn’t care for the music in the video….just saying ?

This was the first video course I have followed to make a bag. It was amazing how easy the video made it to sew the bag. I learned many new tips and tricks to use as well. Chris’ explanations and sewing demo were very clear and the sections were well laid out to follow along and pause as necessary. Thank you for a great tutorial!!

Absolutely love this pattern, so versatile and can be worn 3 ways. But can be changed to suit your own preference. The video is so very detailed and shows exactly what to do step by step. The video is actually made in steps/units so you can jump around in needed or just go from beginning to end, as slow or fast as you want. Chris is my favorite designer, always fresh and original. I Highly recommend her desIgns and videos to everyone. Happy sewing.
